The limitations of project management methodologies and means to overcome it (on example of PMBoK)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of limitations of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) as an example of a standardized project management methodology. For this purpose, the content of the sixth and seventh versions of PMBoK is analyzed and compared. As a result, a number of meaningful limitations of PMBoK and typical difficulties in its application were identified, and measures were proposed to overcome these limitations. The results obtained make it possible to deepen the theory of project management in terms of elaboration of issues not covered by standardized methodologies.
