"Civilization state" in the political space of the 21st century: ideal or idol?

The article examines the political prospects of the "statecivilization" as one of the directions of the civilizational approach in the social sciences. It is noted that the "state-civilization" is in a contradictory relationship with the concept of the nation state, carrying a strong political component close to populist rhetoric. Based on the analysis, the author has identified the main characteristics of the state-civilization as a social ideal and as an idol.
