Abstract

Formation of the knowledge economy is considered as an objective process that takes place at different levels of the national economy organization: international, national and regional. The problems faced by the Russian Federation in the process of sustainable development and the knowledge economy formation are denoted. The role of intellectual capital as a key resource for sustainable development in the emerging knowledge economy is justified.
