Abstract

The article examines the development of local self-governance in Post-Soviet Russia. Such issues as the regulatory framework and its formation specifics, changing approaches to the role of local self-governance in the modern Russian society, the civil society development through the country’s continued progress in local self-governance are investigated. Local self-governance as a resource of Russia's creative development and the enhancement of its political culture, a factor of strengthening the country’s national security and a priority of state policy is considered to be the national doctrine.
