Resume: the pace of modernization and complication of economic development in the leading countries of the world naturally requires the emergence of a more powerful legal regulator of interethnic relations in the field of economic turnover. The presence of formal legal borders between countries, on the one hand, acts as an instrument that maintains a dynamic balance between the national interests of the state in the field of security, the implementation of a sovereign policy, on the other hand, does not allow interaction within a single legal field, which in the context of globalization and digitalization of economic relations , the existing monetary integration requires the legal regulator of such relations, a different nature and mechanisms of action than the regulators within the same national legal system. The relevance of the study lies in the application of the laws of general systems theory to the analysis of the essence of private international law. It is concluded that private international law is a regulator of public relations, which is a system of legal norms of international treaties, customs, domestic legislation that regulate property and personal non-property relations, complicated by a foreign element using substantive and conflict-of-law methods.
