Historical images of the sovereigns of the Russian state: women's strategy of a male game

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of rethinking the principles of historical analysis applied to public figures and rejecting the prevailing stereotypes. The author believes that only this path will lead to the formation of a stable basis for the patriotic education of the younger generation. As an example of a distorted image, the figure of Catherine the First is used, a comparative analysis of the assessments of contemporaries and scientists of subsequent centuries is given.
