Federal Law No. 23-FZ of 04.03.2013 introduced Chapter 32.1 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation "Inquiry in an Abbreviated Form". Article 226.5 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation deals with the peculiarities of proving during an inquiry in an abbreviated form. In particular, Part 1 of Article 226.5 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation formulates the subject of proof in criminal cases for which an inquiry is conducted in an abbreviated form. Part 2 of Article 226.5 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation defines the limits of proof during an inquiry in an abbreviated form. The subject of proof and the limits of proof during an inquiry in an abbreviated form differ from those formulated in relation to other forms of preliminary investigation of crimes (preliminary investigation and inquiry in the general procedure). The author examines the features of the subject of proof and the limits of proof during the conduct of an inquiry in abbreviated form.
