Abstract

the article deals with the problem of the independence of Electoral Commissions in Russia that perform specific functions related to the organization of elections as the realization of the sovereign will of the Russian people, as an independent and impartial organizer of political competition, institutionalized in the form of the election campaign. The legal basis of independence of Electoral Commissions in Russia was analyzed and their independence from the influence of the executive authorities and political parties are inspected. The author proposes measures to ensure the necessary degree of independence of the election commissions in Russia in the organization and conduct of democratic free elections.
