the article is devoted to the peculiarities of the protection and preservation of state secrets by public officials and the process of their admission to the information constituting a state secret. Tolerance to state secret is one of the methods of its protection and preservation, the procedure of obtaining the rights of citizens to access to information constituting a state secret, and enterprises, institutions and organizations to carry out works with the use of such information. Breach of obligations to protect state secrets may give rise to criminal liability. The severity of the punishment in this case depends on the specific crime.
